Enhancement : Upgrade GSoC Contributions Chart to Gradient Area Visualization

Describe the feature

The current GSoC Contribution chart uses a basic line graph which looks minimal but lacks visual depth and premium appeal. We propose replacing it with a Smooth Gradient Area Chart to make the visualization more modern, readable, and engaging while keeping the existing dark theme.

Current Behavior

• Simple line chart with flat styling
• No gradient, depth, or emphasis on trends
• Looks basic compared to modern analytics dashboards

Proposed Behavior

• Replace existing line chart with a Smooth Gradient Area Chart
• Add subtle gradient fill beneath the line
• Improve tooltip and hover interactions
• Keep the same data (2016–2024) and color scheme

Expected Impact

• More professional and premium look
• Better trend readability at a glance
• Aligns with modern dashboard visualization standards

Hi, I’d like to work on this enhancement.
I’ve contributed to AOSSIE before and I’m currently checking the website repo.

Before I start, could you please tell me if there is a preferred chart library to use and whether the gradient style should match any existing design. Also please let me know if there are any rules for tooltips or accessibility.

I want to make sure I do this the right way before starting.
