Support for addresses (pre-formatted text)

There are some pages here physical contact details are being added. Currently the content team are using double spaces in the md syntax to insert a break tag across lines, so that their text isn’t wrapped in separate paragraphs (and thus, receives full paragraphs margins/spacing).

Possible solutions:

• pre?
• microformats?

I’m happy and keen to add whatever styling necessary into the uikit for this.

I also realise we’re hitting the limits of what MD natively supports here, so this might be put in the “wont’t fix until the editor receives more love post Aug” bucket.

It's a good point re: markdown limits, and I think one which speaks to a gap in our platform. Contact details in particular are something a broader solution could apply to, so that author's are choosing contact details to embed rather than placing them alongside the content.

Any instance we're trying to mangle the content to get a desired look hints at gaps we could better address through features. I believe this is something we're looking into supporting post August that would be good to engage on.

Given priorities, I’m also inclined to agree.

@ltankey What ‘good enough’ solution are we happy to live with in the interim — do line breaks suffice for now? Or could we get Kramdown support in order to append classes to MD blocks via block attributes?

I missed this issue. For html structure - an approach I used on news article contact information was to use <address> https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Web/HTML/Element/address
