Thanks to everyone who joined, and the Proton team for their time and willingness to share. We got to meet the team, and in a presentation, they gave us insight into their design process and considerations, and how they tackled some of the biggest problems they identified. Afterwards we had an open discussion with various questions around how sending bitcoin via email was implemented, user feedback, and more.

Do we feel this review was valuable?

For me, the presentation where they outlined what challenges they identified and how the team addressed them was the highlight. IIRC they also mentioned intentionally drawing parallels with email to help users form a mental model without addresses, loved that.

Are there ways to improve them?

• Perhaps a form asking for feedback could be a good first (zero step) follow-up step so we can generally learn how people felt about the call?
• I've seen Christoph spell out ideas to collaborate or services BDC could offer during the call itself, would've loved to see something like that emerge out of this one too...

Any follow ups to this review?

Working on it, was chatting with @ConorOkus about this! Been thinking about making a presentation that could identify pathways/opportunities for collaboration inspired by collaboration playbook or simply ways BDC can be of help...

I did have a nice little chat with Ale post-call, which sounded positive.

I watched the call back, it's nice to have the Proton team engage with us in this way.
My understanding is the team doesn't plan to add any Lightning features atm, a big win would be for them to look at implementing Payjoin which we have some guidance for as well as BIP 353 / Silent Payments.

I'm curious what the community has identified as other areas of improvement...
