Can an emulated network card in Amiberry be directly mapped to a physical NIC and inherit its IP address? #1714

Hello, First of all, thank you very much for your work on Amiberry — it's a fantastic emulator! I'm a user from France, and I’m writing this question in English with the help of a translation. I hope it's clear and understandable. I’m currently running Amiberry version 7.1.1 on a Linux system (Debian unstable) with a custom-built kernel. My setup uses a dedicated machine for bare-metal performance, and I have full control over the hardware and configuration. Here is my question: Is it possible in Amiberry to map an emulated Amiga network card (such as NE2000 or A2065) directly to a physical network interface on the host (e.g., a Realtek RTL8169) so that the Amiga system can obtain the same IP address as that NIC? To clarify: I’m not referring to bsdsocket.library networking. I’m not looking for NAT, SLiRP, or user-mode networking. I would like the emulated Amiga, using something like MiamiDX, to access the network through a dedicated NIC, and ideally inherit the same IP address and MAC as that card — as if it were directly using it. Is this possible with the current version of Amiberry? Thank you very much for your time and support! |

Yes, it's possible to use that feature, as it's implemented in a similar way as in WinUAE. |

But I don't really use it, so I don't have the details on how you would configure it to do what you want exactly. The same steps as those used in WinUAE should apply, so if you find information on that, maybe it will work. :)
