Flexible indexing protocol #6

Description

@CapPow

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Reviewers aptly pointed out the weaknesses of our current record indexing protocol, (i.e.; "site#-specimen#"). This solution may be easier to adopt if the indexing method, or association between physical collected specimens and digital field notes was less rigid.

Describe the solution you'd like
It would be preferable to give users a flexible indexing method which takes into account: users not wishing to use site numbers, users not wishing to use lifetime numbers (instead preferring a year followed by a unique number). A solution might require the obfuscation yet continued use of site numbers to continue to preserve data hierarchy between collNotes & collBook.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • A series of preset indexing options or templates in collNotes might suffice for 90% of use cases and simplify the problems associated with 'anything goes' indexing.
  • Alternatively, and perhaps easiest may be a completely arbitrary user entry "field number" which is made visible to the user in both collNotes and collBook and is optionally on the label, yet not used for internal indexing among collNotes & collBook.

Additional context
This request has significant overlap with the request made for site naming.
