Using font-install to install fonts on Windows is ineffective. It merely copies the font files to the C:\Windows\Fonts directory. It does not register the fonts in the registry at 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts'. Additionally, font-install does not support installing fonts from local folders, for example: font-install D:\fonts*.ttf

Thanks for reporting this. I don't know how I thought the Windows stuff was actually complete. 🤦 I think there is a way to install fonts nowadays (for some value of "nowadays") that is user-local instead of requiring admin rights that is probably a better way to go, to be consistent with the other platforms? I'll take a look.
