D.T as "headless" CRM

This is a public discussion to explore D.T as a "headless" CRM where the UI is decoupled from the API enabling variations of UIs based around role, custom branding, deployment environment (desktop app vs mobile vs web), plugin-centric UIs, etc...

FYI: I am not convinced that Headless WP is worth the effort, for a couple of reasons:

1. D.T development effort up to this point has mostly been in the Theme, and so we'd be reimplementing all of that work while gaining disproportionately small amount of reuse from any existing API-specific logic
2. You're not actually moving away from PHP anyway with the Headless approach bc you still need to write PHP in order to create custom plugins, WP Admin screens, or modify existing plugins, etc...
