Only playing on center speaker in 5.1

I'm playing the PH demo on Linux. I have a 5.1 audio set up with speakers. All songs play through the center speaker, which means no stereo separation or use of the sub-woofer. This issue is unique to PH, no other game or media has this issue for me.
