how to program 3-pos switch as OFF-ON-ON?

i have 2 relays, each on their own channel, that supply power to an LED and a camera

i want to program a 3 pos switch where:

• pos 0 = OFF
• pos 1 = camera ON, LED OFF
• pos 2 = camera ON, LED ON

possible?

How do you turn your camera and LED on? Are these different channels? You could use a simple offset and weight combination to achieve this.

the LED and cam were on separate switches (and channels), but i want to put both channels on 1, 3-pos switch - i did this, but on switch pos 2 (0=off / 1=cam / 2=LED) the LED comes on, but the cam goes off

I can give you an example if you tell me which channels control the camera and which the LED. Also, I need to know the values for ON and OFF. As your camera goes OFF when the switch is UP, I assume it will only be ON if the channel value is 0 (middle). In that case you can just use Func: x < 0 in the mixer line.

This will effect that your camera channel will not go over 0:

• switch down: -100
• switch mid: 0
• switch up: 0

If you LED channel is happy and switches ON when you're going to +100, then you're all set up, right?

I would suggest using the center position of the 3 position switch as the OFF position. This results in your not having to pass through the middle position to trigger that mode if you are really wanting to trigger the "far" Switch position.

My Mix settings in Companion using SB to activate the function are
Channel 5 MAX Weight (+100%) Switch (!SB-) (CAM)
Channel 6 MAX Weight (+100%) Switch (SBup) (LED)

!SB- (Which is either SBup or SBdown) to activate the channel mix turning on the Camera
SB(UP) to activate the LED channel mix.

Notice in the companion simulation the output will be neutral when both outputs should be OFF and will go to one extreme (+100) when each of the outputs should be ON. (I do not know how the output drives the relays).

cam is on ch. 6, LED on ch. 7

both are fed with the same kind of relay which feeds power when they get >= 1.5ms @50Hz signal (mid stick if it were a proportional ch.)

if it makes a difference, there is no FC - just the radio and a PWM Rx

Ok, then CH6(cam) should be really just using the switch, no need for anything else.

If you find it easier, you could just use curves:

curious, what is the other option besides using curves?

using the curves you supplied results in the same issue on a 3-pos. switch: the cam turns on on pos 1, but then turns off on pos 2 -- i messed with the curves but couldn't figure it out

current:

• CV1 and CV2 are set as you provided
• OUTPUT min/max is -512/+512 for ch. 6 & 7 and the respective curves are assigned
• cam MIX source is set to SB (3-pos switch), switch is set to SB-
• LED MIX source is set to SB (3-pos switch), switch is set to SB+

The minimal solution would be something like this:

• cam mix: source is set to SB, weight = 100%, offset = 50%
• led mix: source is set to SB, weight = 100%, offset = -50%

No need for output adjustments or curves there.

your example worked, except the LED mix needs to be ...

• weight: 100
• offset: -50

...with that, all is off at pos. 0, cam on at pos. 1, cam and LED on at pos. 2

Done! That gets even more minimal: only the offsets are changed compared to default mixes :-)
