Swipe over icon

Can you make the swipe to work over the icon because i have to swipe from the marked area as in the attachment. When i swipe from the icon in navigation bar the button is pressed. Can you make it such as swiping in homescreen over the icon or it can't be done with navbar buttons.

My phone is Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 with stock lollipop.
I use Xstana with personalised (Custom) Navigation icon to change icon and GravityBox to add custom key from Gravitybox/Navigation bar tweaks/Custom key setting/Enable custom key for the button on left and Gravitybox/Navigation bar tweaks/Always show menu key for menu key on right
