Joycon Gyro input does not move mouse (Linux)

As the title says, JSM recognizes the two joycons (put into the gamepad holder but JSM doesn't recognize them as "combined"). Do START_GYRO_CALIBRATION and FINISH_GYRO_CALIBRATION. Then use GYRO_SENS=1 and MOUSE_X_FROM_GYRO_AXIS=Z. Rotating the joycon does nothing. No mouse movement at all.

To be honest I don't know how the input of JSM is supposed to arrive at any kind of game (no Steam involved in case this is important). The system is X11 (no wayland). I tried anything I could find on the internet as examples but gyro in JSM is simply not working.

You need 50-joyshockmapper.rules from the linux folder inside JSM package and modify it for your joycons.

Example lines:

Copy the modified 50-joyshockmapper.rules to /etc/udev/rules.d/
It should work for steam, heroic, jsm, ...

PS . I use JSM 3.5.4 on Ubuntu. Sometimes JSM is required to re-start in order to recognize the combined joycons.

It seems the udev rules didn't work. I had to manually chmod all the files to 666 for it to work. Managed so far only to get mouse to be moved. Better would be to move a gamepad stick by it but JSM refuses to let me attach the input to gamepad stick. Gives generic error which helps nothing.

If you test this again, does it output the Gyro as RLEFT/RRIGHT/e.t.c.? Just checking to see if I accidentally created a duplicate issue request, or if my issue is unique.

For reference, I am using a specific pull request based on 3.6: https://github.com/Electronicks/JoyShockMapper/pull/162/files and I am on Arch Linux. I have the udev rules installed as well.

(I should really add in the Joy-Con udev entries...)

FYI, I'm using that JSM 3.6.1 pull request build as well on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS.
I installed only the modified 50-joyshockmapper.rules for my pair of joycons.
No joycon driver such as joycond installed.
My gyro output is MRING/MLEFT/MRIGHT/MUP/MDOWN/LEAN_LEFT/LEAN_RIGHT.
No RLEFT/RRIGHT/e.t.c. seen.

I use JSM only for button triggered "gyro as mouse" since no virtual controller support on JSM Linux. It works well for those proton-wine games with mix input support.

I've tried it with joycond and I get RLEFT/RRIGHT, e.t.c. I think whilst joycond might alter it a bit it's still JSM-specific. Later on, I might have to test out:

• Running JSM with joycond enabled and the udev rules installed
• ... without joycond but with the udev rules

Running as sudo fixes the issue, but it means I have to put in my password, and I also cannot use it on Hyprland due to some other issue.
