Adding Tools?

Hello. First: Awesome stuff! Thanks.

Second: I'm trying to add Wolfram Alpha as a tool. Basically, I searched for Arxiv and did all the same things (added to pg types, gql ENUM, etc.) and pip installed wolframalpha. I'm still getting an invalid type when I try to create an agent with that tool. Having a hard time debugging because it doesn't show up in the terminal or js console - just the error modal.

Any tips on what I might need to do?

Hello Devin,

I have many suggestion for you:

• try to create and run the new migrations of the DB:

npx prisma generate
npx prisma migrate deploy

• try to use Wolfram Alpha from LangChain:
  https://python.langchain.com/docs/integrations/tools/wolfram_alpha/

• ensure that you add the tool in all these files:

prisma/schema.prisma
src/app/api/graphql/crew_ai.py
src/app/api/graphql/schema.ts
src/types/agent.ts

Please let me know if any of these solutions works with you.

Thanks! The npx prisma generate got me to the point I can add the tool to an agent. When I run a task using that agent, it just returns 'tools' in a modal instead of running. I tried adding the tool as WolframApiWrapper().run(), but that didn't work. Chasing it down. I'm about to try creating a custom tool that runs it and see how that works.

Based on the docs here:
https://python.langchain.com/docs/integrations/tools/wolfram_alpha/
you need to add "WOLFRAM_ALPHA_APPID" to use this tool.
If you added the APPID and it doesn't work, watch the terminal and you may discover the problem.
