Possible memory leak on Linux Mint #159
Description
Hello, this is the first time I report a bug in KSP so please forgive me for any errors or missing info.
Software/Hardware config
I am running the latest version of KSP with Parallax (installed through CKAN) and Scatterer (as recommended by CKAN).
My operating system is Linux Mint 22 "Wilma"
I am running an HP ProDesk 600 G1 with i7-4790k, 32 GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 7600.
PROBLEM:
When installing Parallax, with or without Scatterer (it doesn't change the behavior), the RAM consumption is very high. But that's not the main issue, I expect RAM usage to grow and 26GB "per se" isn't the problem
What the real problem is, is that after opening the Tracking Station, the RAM usage peaks at almost 30GB, and after closing KSP, not all the memory is freed unless I restart the computer OR (even weirder!) open the game WITHOUT parallax installed.
About 10GB seem to be "eaten" by Parallax and not released unless I either restart the computer or open the game without Parallax installed.
Also, it's certainly not a case of Linux Ate My Ram, because the "eaten" RAM is not cache (shown on htop in YELLOW) but actually allocated memory (shown on htop in GREEN). Additionally, with KSP closed, I've tried dropping caches but that didn't of course result in any lowering of the RAM usage.
Video
Given the weirdness of the issue, I have made a video to hopefully make you understand the issue better.
Other stuff I've tried
In the configuration in the video, I am running with other 10 parts mod. Removing those had no effect on the RAM usage. I've also tried installing and removing Deferred, but that also didn't change anything. Installing other graphical mods such as Astronomer's Visual Enhancements also did not change anything or raise the RAM usage by that much if I don't install Parallax; if I do have Parallax installed, the result is the same as with ONLY Parallax.
Thanks in advance!
