both with the same title. It is understandable that tools like Nextflow and Snakemake are connected to both Software Development and Use of HPC, but so is most software. There is also quite a bit of overlap in the description. One way to resolve this is to make a distinction between the level of knowledge expected for a:

• user
• developer

Perhaps SD8 can make USE6 a prerequisite and offload the user parts into USE6.

Thanks for pointing out this apparently unclear choice or lack of words describing the intent more accurately! Actually, Nextflow content is missing altogether, as I was merely writing those parts with a focus on Snakemake - not being blind to the fact that alternatives exist. We are looking for a similar contribution regarding Nextflow. Yet, this is not mentioned within the wiki, of course. I think emphasizing the difference between use and development, and likewise indicating a lack of Nextflow (or CWL or ...) content will not harm either.

However, I consider workflow management systems special software as they

1. alleviate users from writing intricate job management scripts for multistep data analysis workflows and thereby refraining from HPC use
2. are the standard way for reproducible data analysis as they track and protocol all metadata. This is otherwise not the case, and getting increasingly frowned upon when HPC users publish without properly stating protocols.

I assigned this issue to me and intend polishing those entries accordingly. Any suggestions or other contributions, even opening a first PR with a draft, are most appreciated!
