How to create cores in Casebox

I have just finished installing Casebox using this guide https://github.com/KETSE/casebox/wiki/Ubuntu-14.04-x64 successfully. Now I want to create a couple of cores but I have no idea how to create them. i have gone through the internet but I can't find anything about creating a new core. After logging in I landed on the page shown. It looks kinda empty. If I try to click on anything an "unable to connect to server" message pops up. If anyone can point to me on where to go I will greatly appreciate.

I installed the app on an Ubuntu 16.04 aws ec2 - Amazon

Dear Willard Nyamunokora, The "unable to connect to server" usually points to a configuration error. HURIDOCS only supports human rights organisations. Best wishes, Bert Verstappen

Hi Bertver. Thanks for getting back to me. I work for Open Hands Community Centre. We deal with healthy and human rights issues of the elderly as well as their welfare in general.

I was able to take care of the unable to connect issue and I am able to navigate through the default core using the v2 branch, but I can't figure out how to create my second core.

I tried the v1 as well. Used the bin/install.php script and the MySql databases and Solr cores were created successful but there are no core files created in httpsdocs. I tried the create_cores.php as well without luck.

Please can you help me install the software successfully. Either the v1 or v2. Thanks.

Hi,
Thank you for the SOURCE CODE.
However, This is the WORST open source software I've ever installed.
During my 17 years of experience, this is the first time I saw an software WITHOUT a VALID installation steps.
We don't ask for support, we only want a VALID installation procedure!

MAKE it a paid service or whatever!!!! BUT NOT leave people ask relevant questions with NO relevant answers!

After weeks of sleepless nights. I finally managed to get it working. I was always touching and untouching here and there I am not even sure what I did right or what I was doing wrong. They have a great software. What I do not understand is why go through the ordeal of writing such a system and yet not provide clear documentation. What's the point then. Anyways if you still trying to install just drop a message here, I might be able to help you.

@alaanizar @BigWizzo I apologize in the name of our organization for all the troubles you have been having with the install process.

The truth is that we are no longer actively maintaining the software except for critical issues. The team that initially developed Casebox is long gone and we made the organizational decision of focusing our resources in our newer tool (https://github.com/huridocs/uwazi).

We also decided to leave this repository and the website active:

• For archival reasons, since this code may be still needed by some organizations.
• So the community has a meeting point where eventually they can support each other.
• For the possibility of someone eventually taking over the project, since it is OS and the license allows it.

I hope this serves as clarification and helps alleviating the frustration.

@BigWizzo hey. this is after a long time but you said you got this running.... can you help me? do you have it installed? maybe share a vm ? docker? i tried the vagrant one but that is not working for me.

@test2a & @alaanizar, it took me a few days to get Casebox working, but I was able to get it installed and mostly functional. Since the "developers" can't be bothered to actually help anyone with what they created by even creating proper documentation, I'd be glad to help. Feel free to send me a message.

@coderporos hey. if you have done the work already, i was thinking you could set up a docker instance and basically all our problems would be solved for the most bit. Because there isnt any sort of "updates" from the team, maybe people here could collaborate to set up documentation in a better way, hacks to install this version only

@test2a Sure... I would be happy to. I only managed to get it working in Centos at the moment (although I have another client trying to get me to get it working in Windows). I'll create a docker instance in the next couple of days.
