Unable to reattach a component to the main window

I'm not sure this is the proper "terminology", but I detached a bunch of "View" items (e.g the Cells and Layers menus), and I just seem unable to reattach them to the main window. Is this possible? Closing the windows and re-ticking their View checkbox again re-opens them detached. Closing and reopening KLayout also doesn't reset it.

It’s possible.
Move the top of the window to the location you want to dock it at and it will “snap” in place.
If you can’t get it to work this way, the window geometry is stored in the klayoutrc file.
So if you remove that, or just the lines dealing with the windows, you get the “original” window geometry back.

Moving the window back to snap it into place was my first instinct, but at this point I think this is a proper bug. It never snaps back in place, or at least there's never any indicator that it will do so, and I've tried quite a bit.

I'm on Ubuntu 24.04, KLayout 0.30.4. Multi-monitor setup on Wayland.

Thank you for the fallback tip though, I was able to fix the issue by deleting the <window-geometry> and <window-state> nodes.

Maybe that is an issue of Wayland/Qt, but it works for me. I am using Ubuntu 24.04 as well:

If you have trouble to restore your views, you can use "View/Restore Window" to reset to the default geometry (i.e. docked), which in my case is somewhat too dense.
