Unable to access Kindle File System to transfer winterbreak via USB(Amazon says it's deprecated)

Unrelated to the Winterbreak itself. But for my paperwhite 7, Amazon support has mentioned that usb support has been deprecated. Any workaround to this?

PW3 was last updated a while back, with 5.16.2.1.1, it's not like they released an update specifically to block USB access for no reason... Ensure your cable supports data transfer and the port isn't dead.
