Arrays or lists in the IDL?

Hi,

How do I define a method in the IDL that takes a list/array or some kind of collection as an argument?

The argument types take their name from the Javascript types. There is also some allowance for the lack of different number types in Javascript.

• string maps to NSString*
• int maps to int
• float maps to float
• array maps to NSArray*
• object maps to NSDictionary*
• boolean maps to BOOL.

Additionally, any request or response type defined in the IDL is mapped to an NSDictionary*, although for iOS, you will need to construct an object from the NSDictionary* yourself:

Ok, I was about to send a JSON string to the callback and have ios parse it into a dictionary. So if I define the following interface:

          "IMobiliserAppTransactionScreen": {
                namespace: ".android",
                implementedBy: "native",
                methods: {
                    displayTransactionPage:[{pagenumber:"integer"},{transactions:"array"}]
                }
            }

From the JS side I can put together an array of transaction objects and then process them on the native side as follows:

- (void) displayTransactionPage: (int) pagenumber : (NSArray*) transactions{
    for (id dictionary in transactions) {
        NSDictionary *transactionRecord = (NSDictionary*)dictionary;
        //Do something with the transaction object, fields accessed via [transactionRecord objectForKey:@"X"]
    }
}
