Description
After 20 years administering my GPS tracks with Mapsource, I once again searched for a program that can show an OSM map and that has a nice interface with enough options to investigate, cleanup and administer tracks.
Then I found QMS and it is really great!
One of the great features is to have a database with all your data and a separate workspace where you modify data, with a check-in check-out (and save) approach (the lack of that being the reason for never switching to Basecamp).
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
It is not a problem, but the only thing I miss. I maintain a walking website where I describe tracks. Quite often I want to look up the time a picture was taken in the list of trackpoins to see where that picture was taken.
So I scroll through the trackpoints till the specific time. Then, with a certain row focussed, I want to see where that trackpoint is on the map with the track visible.
Describe the solution you'd like
Edit track view:
There is a tab Points. When scrolling through it, a vertical line moves accordingly in the elevation graph.
But when selecting the map view, that point is not visible.
Only when selecting the elevation graph a green dot gets visible on the map but it is hard to get the mouse pointer to a specific time. And it is almost impossible to leave the graph without selecting a green range.
Select a range of points:
Left-clicking the track on the map view and choosing the three green dots icon (Select a range of points), a window with elevation graph and trackpoint table shows up. It would be nice if one can click in the table to get focus, and then scroll through the table with arrow-up/down or PgUp/PgDn. And that the green dot on the track moves accordingly.
This way of scrolling and selecting track point is even nicer because the track is visible on the same view.
In general I wonder why the Time column of trackpoints don't show seconds...
Describe alternatives you've considered
To use the where is a trackpoint with specific time option the following is now possible.
Make the whole track visible. Then click on the track, click the Show on-screen profile button (it doesn't stay enabled).
Then edit the track, a new View opens. Select the Points tab and scroll through the table to the wanted time row.
Move the mouse pointer around the elevation graph (otherwise another trackpoint gets selected) and select the map view. A baloon on the track points to the selected trackpoint.
Give a reason why someone else should spend time on that request
Scrolling through a track and showing the position is possible now through the elevation graph. I can imagine more people would like to scroll through the trackpoint table with date/time in mind to find a certain point on the track.
Answering the question literally: Even if I can get a developer environment up and running on my Windows 11 system, I don't think that I am able to find the code to change to make this work.

Thanks in advance for looking into this. Regards, Han
