Excluding songs on custom playlists

While managing several hundred songs, and attempting to sort them into playlists, I attempted to use the second button on the toolbar that sits below the song list; from its name I would expect it to filter out from the list of songs any song that is currently in at least one of my custom playlists.

When clicking it, my playlist icons disappear but the songs remain visible in the song list.

Since this behavior is of little to no use, I must presume that this is not functioning as intended. Hiding the playlist icons wouldn't really provide any benefit, if the songs are still showing up.

Hopefully you intended to hide the songs, so if you're trying to locate any songs not already categorized, only those songs will be visible. This would be very helpful to have fixed. :)

The only real reason for that toolbar is to mirror the functionality of the PC mod. This is what it says about the feature:

• View playlists in 4 categories
  • All playlists and music packs: This shows the custom levels and WIP levels folders that you've made in addition to all playlists you have
  • All music packs: This only shows any custom levels and WIP levels folders that you've made which is how the game would show without PlaylistManager installed
  • All playlists: This only shows all playlists
  • Folders: All your playlists organized in folders

Honestly, I don't see the second one being particularly useful either, and it could be nice (and apparently more intuitive) for it to be effectively the opposite of the third. Although the implementation of that wouldn't be trivial, so we'll see.

I presume that the complete list of songs is stored in an array of some sort? Perhaps it would be possible to simply reverse the selection routine you're currently using to pull those songs that are on the playlists? I program in PHP, not Unity (though I'm beginning to lean toward picking it up), and I know that there you can take a master array and return all elements (or objects) that are not in a second given array. Since this would be essentially the complete opposite of other functionality, it may be possible.

Well, while the filtering would (probably) not be too difficult, except potentially in performance (and doing it on load and caching would mean it would have to be updated it with each addition and removal to any other playlist), there's also the issue of whether it would override the contents of another playlist, which could be buggy when interacting with other mods, or if it would be some extra hidden playlist, which could easily show up unexpectedly

It's by no means not doable and wouldn't even be the hardest thing to solve in the mod, but this would be more than a five minute addition

Hello.
Surprisingly, I came here with the same problem, 300 tracks that I play in turn and arrange in playlists (for myself/wife/child/guests).

But I used a slightly different approach, I made a playlist "ALL" and added all the tracks to it.
Then I go through this playlist and add tracks from it to other playlists, after which I delete the track from the ALL playlist

But in version 1.37 I don't have a "remove from playlist" button, only "Add to playlist".

Initially, I wanted to ask for such a button, but then I realized that the approach described by L3Home is also good.
