Possible to start with runtime switches?

I run the game via Steam with the following switches: --disable-gpu --disable-gpu-compositing --enable-software-rasterizer
I wasn't clear if that could be added in the config to start it up with the same switches.

It is possible to do that, but what would that do? Linux is using the --disable-gpu arg because I read it helps there a ton.
