Extra state like "not applicable" or "closed"

Would it be possible to add a 3rd state for threads, which can mark that a question was not "solved" as such but is "not applicable"? Not all thread questions can be stated as "solved" but instead may not have an answer, but were already handled.

This request on its own might be out of scope for this plugin and maybe just a somewhat wrong way we use it.

If this is something which might be considered, I am happy to dig into the code and see how it can be done.
