Was curious if it's possible to get autobrr into sherpa? A great tool for automating torrent downloads from irc announce channels.

I've now put it in my todo list. I can't provide a timeline though. I'll get to it when I can, but I'm rather tied-up with some other sherpa changes at the moment.

Hi mate, autobrr is now available in the unstable branch. 😄

To install it, you'll need to switch to unstable temporarily.

Important: you'll see there are upgraded QPKGs available while you're in unstable. Don't upgrade any QPKGs while in unstable as these new QPKG versions are being tested (but autobrr looks OK so-far).

sherpa follow unstable
sherpa install autobrr

When you've confirmed autobrr installed correctly and is running, you can switch sherpa back to the stable branch with:

sherpa reset

Once you've reset, sherpa will switch back to stable and won't know about autobrr - it won't be listed by sherpa and can't be manipulated by sherpa just yet. When I get around to pushing unstable into stable, it will show-up again in sherpa.

This won't stop you using it in the meantime. Once installed, you'll get an autobrr icon in your App Center you can use for launching.

Please let me know how you get-on, and if there are any problems to fix or tweaks to add before the "official" release.

I tried to install but i get this

derp: unknown argument "autobrr". Please check the arguments again.

I should have asked earlier: what model NAS are you using?

Something tells me it has an old ARMv5 CPU.

Oh it's really old. Likely the issue. TS-421.

Yup, there's the problem: ARMv5 CPUs are only type used in QNAP NAS the developers of autobrr don't provide compiled binaries-for. 😞

This is becoming more common each day: no-one wants to support old, outdated CPUs anymore. It's too-much effort.

You need a new NAS.

haha fair enough, I'm just being a tight arse and have no real need for it. It downloads stuff for me and stores my security camera footage perfectly lol.

I can highly recommend the TS-264 if you're in the market for a new NAS. I got one a while back - it's the fastest QNAP NAS I own.

No problem mate, I probably will in the near future to be honest, this old girl does struggle a fair bit, CPU often maxing out at 100%.

Only thing left to-do is to reset sherpa to get you back on the stable branch:

sherpa reset

I'll keep autobrr as a supported QPKG as the work has already been done.
