⚠️ Issue:

60 OPM (1Hz) is too slow for real-time robotics safety.

🎯 Location:

/robot/vital_pulse_generator
/server/vital_pulse_analyzer

🦠 Symptoms:

  • A network drop of 1 second means the robot is totally "blind" for that duration.

🩺 Diagnosis:

  • Increase the "Internal Heartbeat" to 3,000 OPM (50Hz).
  • Display Node should not display the actual opm, but rather throttle back down to the range of human heartbeat rate.

➡️ Future Implementation:

  • If server connection is not engaged, use baseline opm which is 60opm. (Rest State)
  • Develop an algorithm to calculate opm based on network latency, and is much higher than the baseline opm. (Active State)
  • The vital pulse frequency would indicate the speed of the network connection, in addition to confirming the server connection status.
