Piping commands results in a crash

**Describe the bug**
When you pipe a command into the next one it crashes.

**To Reproduce**
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1. Go to the terminal
2. Type in `cowsay moo | lolcat`
3. Crashes with an error about and id being undefined

**Expected behavior**
A happy colored cow
