Why I’m Interested in This Project
As a Computer Science undergraduate with a strong passion for ethical AI, open-source collaboration, and user-centric development, I’m excited to contribute to SimPPL’s initiative for a privacy-first social media data donation tool.
This project resonates with my background in building both frontend and backend systems, particularly those involving AI, real-time interaction, and web accessibility. I'm also deeply motivated by tools that give users agency over their data, making this opportunity a perfect fit for my interests and skills.

What I Can Contribute
Browser Extension Dev: Comfortable with WebExtension APIs and frontend technologies like React and JavaScript
Privacy-Aware Engineering: Experience building user-safe systems (JWT, secure data flows, on-device processing)
Gamification: Built leaderboard systems and user engagement features in past apps
Open Source Readiness: Proficient in Git/GitHub workflows, clear documentation, and community collaboration
Goals and Expectations
Build: Help develop the browser extension with full user-consent and anonymization
Learn: Expand my knowledge of browser APIs and privacy standards
Contribute: Actively engage with the SimPPL team and open-source community
Document: Write clean, well-commented code and detailed documentation for future contributors
Why Me
My track record in building AI-powered, user-focused tools — combined with open-source collaboration and real-world hackathon wins — shows I’m ready to contribute meaningfully. I’m particularly excited to work on tools that prioritize transparency, ethics, and user control, all of which are core values of this project.
Availability
I am fully available during the 6-week project timeline and open to continuing afterward to support ongoing development and maintenance.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with the SimPPL team on this impactful project.
