[Translations] Open a CrowdIn translation page

Hi,

Just wanted to point out, that it could make sense to open a translation project on Hosted Weblate. This would make the translation more open for people who don't know how to handle the language files. Also, this would enable the community to add their own languages, if they want to.
I hope this can be made possible.

We can wait a bit :) ; some of the hard-coded parts in the module have not yet implemented i18n. You can check this branch.

I had a look and they only seemed to have a 7 day free trial for it? is there another option im missing?

As far as I've seen it, there should be a free plan. If not, crowding translate has a free one, but it is a little more complicated to set up.

Crowdin is indeed a great choice, and its open-source project is free of charge.

Late response I know, but I tried opening a crowdin and there were a LOT of issues:

• It failed to detect some languages for some reason, despite there being no errors (eg. es_es)
• It can't detect the lower-case locale names in lang files that MC uses (eg. it can't detect es_es, but needs it to be es_ES, but capitalising it breaks the strings in game)
• When crowdin syncs a translation, it can't detect the special characters I use for MC symbols in text, such as \uE001 which is the symbol of wood - these end up just looking like missing chars

I'll leave this open in case someone wants to actually solve all of the above, but so far it's just been a pain

I wouldn't mind being a translator into Russian, as I really liked this mod. I hope you can integrate the translation files for this mod so that it can support other languages

That's what I recommended first, but the pricing was an issue. If you have a guide on how to get free access for open source projects, it would be nice if you could provide it.

I just found the page for hosting for open source project translations on weblate. It seems you need to be signed in to see it though.
The option is called "libre hosting" and is available on https://hosted.weblate.org/ when clicking on the "+" icon and then on "Add new translation project".
