Segmentation fault

I am getting segmentation fault (core dumped). I installed using from the AUR (simmonitor-git). I am playing ETS2. If ETS2 is not running, it will just search for sim data but not crashing. I've also tested the web, x and cli having the same results.

you have the shared memory plugin setup for ETS2?

actually can you try just simmonitor play -u cli for now too. That should require the minimal amount of data possible to get up and running.

The scs-sdk-plugin? Yes it is installed. This is what I got (updated from AUR):

if ETS2 is not running, then it will just for sim data indefinitely.

can you do it with simmonitor play -vv -u cli and send me the cli output as well as the latest log file you generated in ~/.cache/simmonitor

edit: you also might be simply missing the config file. I added some commits to handle this ( so get latest or rebuild the PKGBUILD from AUR please ). But in the github repo, just copy conf/simmonitorui.config to ~/.config/simmonitor/simmonitorui.config. Creating any directories you don't have.

also, what are you interested in using if i may ask, i'll make sure i do some tests on that specifically as best I can, i don't own ET2 but i have some test harnesses and some example data from others.

Everything is now working. It's looking like it is a combination of config files missing and the plugin, swapped the built plugin with the release. The only issue now is the fuel, wear, and pressure is now too long and using curses or x, it is now just flickering but overall useful.

In ETS2, the dashboard is very blurry for me and I usually use my second monitor/tablet as my dashboard. So what's most important to me in ETS2 is, speed, gear, rpm, and maybe fuel. Other statistics are in general interesting but not necessary(for now).

I also play F1, but don't use the telemetry as much.

it depends, what you want to do. not a lot of the stuff is mapped for the truck sims. you're probably best off trimming the stuff out of the config file for the sdl ui that doesn't make sense, and then we add what you're looking for.

the curses ui doesn't have a config, honestly it doesn't look that bad, if you were interested in using that maybe i can add a cli flag where it doesn't show the current driver position in the bottom right corner.

for web, i added example config files in examples/web. You create the webdef file by making a tar file (just tar, no gz or xz) tar cf ./simflags.tar -C ./examples/web/simflags/ . of the css, js, and web html template. Then you specify that file in the config, and list the widgets that it uses.

i'd start it like this for web simmonitor play -vv -u web --uiconf /home/me/.config/simmonitor/simmonitorweb.flags.config
