Currently, opening the app in display mode looks like the following:

Instead, the layout should be able to adapt to the smaller display size, making the controls big enough to be usable. Two possible choices would be to set the display on the left side and the wheel on the right, or to display only the wheel a la iPod Shuffle.

Additionally, it's worth noting the app UI crashes when resized, although playback continues.
