Release 3.5.0

It's now been almost a year since 3.4.0 released and there've been some important improvements to Aegisub since then, in particular video panning and High DPI support. Due to life getting in the way once again I haven't yet been able to migrate as many features from arch1t3cht/Aegisub upstream as I'd have liked, but most of the smaller additions are merged upstream now.

So, it may be a good idea to release a new version soon. Here's the checklist of things I want to address before the next release:

• LayoutRes support
• Rework the YCbCr matrix handling and in particular allow opening HDR/WCG video
• Make the file parsing more robust (address Fail to parse .ass file when some margin is not an integer #443)
• Improve charset detection (always use UTF-8 when possible)
• Fix time shift when loading .mks files (address Error in loading the timing (and perhaps not only that) of the subtitles in an MKS. #91)
• Address Inconsistency When Snapping Markers to Cursor Time #421
• Update the website
• Possibly start the luabins deprecation (Consider deprecating luabins #382)
• Go through issues an PRs and fix any remaining small ones

If anyone has any other pressing issues, they're welcome to suggest them here, but I'd like to get this release out as soon as possible so I will have to put off most other additions for later.

(This has been my plan and checklist for a while now, but I've seen a few requests for a new release in issues now, so I'm writing this issue to make the current roadmap clear to everyone.)

It would be really nice if there could be a build for arm macos available for the upcoming release.

would be good if #455 can be fixed. even if it's just backing out the changes that did it or simple calculated limit based on the loaded audio property. I ended up having to go back to 3.2.2 when audio has multiple sounds at the same time because the latest version vertically spreads out the graph so much making visuals significantly less intense and hard to see or details/info lost

I made my suggestion in #458 but not sure if you will release additional builds with some of the easier beta changes alongside the regular release builds

Could we please add #379 (Ship wxWidgets's translations) to the list as well? I think it is crucial for a major release to have complete localization support, including the standard UI elements.

The last time I poked at #379 it looked like it'd need a lot of hacks (for relatively little gain - it'd definitely be nice have full localization, but the missing wxWidgets translations only entail a small number of strings), so I'm not really planning to address that before the next stable release (unless maybe someone pr's a good solution).

I don't have a device with Apple Silicon but I think you can try this.
Just download the macos arm64 artifact and it contains a dmg file

It's a nightly release though

Yes the runner for Apple Silicon has been added after my comment. Thanks for mentioning this and this means that the next stable build will likely be available for Apple Silicon too.
