For the Python processing library, are we sure we want to put this in a different repository?

The advantage is that it makes sense, the c++ code is for hardware acquisition while Python is for processing of the acquired data. Are there any disadvantages?
I feel like if they are at all dependent on each other, which in a way they are, e.g. the way data is stored, maybe they should remain in the same repo.
