Add a license and publish to Maven

Thanks for this library! It could be quite useful for some of my projects. Would you be willing to add an open source license and publish builds to Maven Central so it can be used?

(If you'd like, I don't mind helping to PR a publishing config; I've done it for my own KMP libraries)

Thanks for your comment! One issue I've run into in the past was trying to publish with Gradle to the Central Repository. I will gladly prepare for publishing and I'll see what else about the project needs fixing up.
