[Bug]: Crash when shutting down FreeBSD 16.0 with 13 devices attached to LSI Logic SAS controller

What happened?

I attached 13 disks including a CDROM and 12 hard disks to the LSI Logic SAS controller.

When shutting down FreeBSD with "shutdown -p now" or sending it an ACPI signal, VMBOX crashed.
It does not crash if only 2 disks are attached. Nor does it crash every time.

How can we reproduce this?

Attach 13 disks to a VM.

I don't think the problem is confined to FreeBSD

I attached 15 disks to a Debian machine using the SATA controller. It did not crash on shutdown.

I then attached the same 15 disks to the Debian machine with the LSI Logic SAS controller. It crashed on shutdown. This would appear to exonerate FreeBSD as the cause of the crash.

14 of the disks were 2G in size and had no filesystems.

The problem appears to be with the LSI Logic SAS controller.
