It's not entirely clear to me... Are the different versions of this project associated with the different .NET versions (4, 8, or 9) all standalone versions of the project, which each just have different .NET prerequisites? Is there any tangible reason to use one over another? Whatever the answer is I'm guessing the reasoning is inherited from the source of this fork. But I'm planning on using this fork since it seems to be under more recent development (and the source project is now archived apparently) so I figured I'd ask here. |

In general, the .net9 version is the most modern, and AssetStudio already has some features and optimizations that are only available in .net9. But there are not that many of them yet, so you probably won't even notice any differences (except for Dark mode). The .net8 and net472 versions are mostly for compatibility reasons. And yeah, there still may be cases where the net472 version will work more stable. |
