Save Intermediate Tree

Hi! Thank you so much for the program, it's really great!

I have a quick question about saving the tree. I saw in other issues that the only way to preserve all transformations is to use the "Save Final Tree" option. However, I've experienced multiple unexpected crashes with TreeViewer, and unfortunately, nothing is saved when that happens.

Is there a way to save progress more incrementally, like an autosave feature or a quicker way to save intermediate steps, rather than having to manually save the entire tree after each transformation?

Hi! There is indeed an autosave feature in TreeViewer. You can access the autosaved trees by clicking on File > Autosaves:

By default, the program autosaves every 10 minutes, but you can change this in the Preferences (down to 1 minute - but bear in mind that the program will briefly "hang" while autosaving). In the same window, you also have a list of all the custom scripts and code snippets that you have edited.

However, ideally the program shouldn't crash at all 😅 If you're able to reliably reproduce the problem, it might be useful if you can send me the files and steps necessary to do it, so I can try to fix it...
