Help -- 'python' not found error enabling lastfm_extension plugin for Rhythmbox 3.4 on Mint 18

Using Mint 18 Sarah with Rythmbox 3.4.

Trying to install fmlast_extension so I can download song data from the Internet for a large number of old CD rips. CDs in storagein another state.

Extension returns error plugin loader 'python' not found from plugin dialog when checked to enable

"python --version" from home directory as local user returns python 2.7 so it would seems it is installed

searches suggest installing lastfm_extension with the "--rb3" flag to fix but that does not work and I do not see any support for this flag in the install script itself on the github website

1 - is there a newer install script I do not have?

2 - Should this work, or should I give up? If so, is there an easy way to uninstall all the files I just installed to get this to work?

3 - Is there some other support out there to download song info besides lastfm and this extension.

Any help would be great.

Hey! I'm sorry to let you down, I haven't been supporting this plugin for quite a while now (not even using Rythmbox either), so it's most probable that it isn't working anymore in newer versions; there are various issues on this repo pointing at the same problem.
For the time being I don't plan on working on fixing this, I'm sorry :(

@asermax just out of curiosity, what are you using these days instead of Rhythmbox?
