playing video with permission

Thank you for creating this module.
It works perfectly for non-restricted video, but if the video has permission only the registered user can see, it cannot play.

Can you be more specific? I could not reproduce it. All videos on my site use permissions and it works. The possible cause that comes to my mind is, that you use some additional plugin, to have per-video/per-photo permissions. Normally Permissions have to be defined per-Album and these are respected, the user must have the View Permission.

It seems to get 'File not found' error.
Let's say I make an album called 'test' and put a movie file 'test.mp4'
If I give no permission to the album, I can access the movie by URL
http://gallery-site/var/albums/test/test.mp4
but when I give the permission on the 'test' album,
I get error
404: File Not Found
My gallery version is 3.0.9 and PHP version is 5.5.9.

Usually, when acessing items in Gallery, u have links with a ?m=123 attached. (e.g. http://gallery-site/var/albums/test/test.mp4?m=465461237). If you skip this, you may have problems acessing the video. Also, I get the "File not Found" message only IF I dont have permissions to access the file, which is expected behaviour.

Thank you for your quick reply. I did put ?m=123 (not '123' but actual numbers) and it takes forever to load video file. So it's not 'File not Found' issue.
Instead, I get error 'File Not Found' at http://gallery-site/index.php/test/movie.jpg
What is 'movie.jpg' and where I should put the file?

'movie.jpg' is automatically generated when you upload a movie (the thumbnail) by the Gallery (not the plugin). You should be more specific on:

• your setup
• your specified permissions
• what permissions has the user that fails to access
  So I can reproduce the bug. However I still think, it is not a bug of the plugin, since the plugin only changes the "Display" code in Gallery, not the storage and uses the same links/permissions the base Gallery does, as one can see in the code.

I'm afraid the gallery3 I use and you use are different. I'v never obtained 'movie.jpg' when I upload a movie.
I have only one registered user (me) and no group. The permissions are only for 'Everybody' and 'registered users'

I found if I use flowplayer, the link is something like
http://gallery-site/var/albums/test/test.mp4?m%3D1406470246
and if I use your module, it produces
http://gallery-site/var/albums/test/test.mp4?m=1406470246.

The link is virtually identical ("%3D" i just another representation for "=" ). Another problem I had before writing the plugin was that the upload did not trigger the events required for videos. I had to use the module "HTML5 Upload Progress" to fix this. Before that movie thumbnails also ware not generated on my site.

I tested with small size (3MB) video file and now it works. The size of a video file I fail to watch is more than 60MB.
So the file size matters?

Yes, size matters during upload. It often happens, if the file is too large or the upload takes too long, that the post-upload events are not triggered (one such is also the thumbnail generation). Then the video may not be playable.

I suggest adding to php.ini
post_max_size = 100M

I also found firefox can play the movie with large size of more than 100MB.
So this issue happens when I use google chrome.
