How to add a class or style to <blockquote> ?

Hello,

I am trying to add a class or style to the <blockquote> element, e.g., <blockquote class="test">, in the HTML view.
Unfortunately, the class or style attributes are automatically removed, and only <blockquote> remains.

Why is this happening, and what should I do to be able to add a class/style?
