ext-imap is about to be EOL

Since ext-imap is about to be EOL (see reason to unbundle ext-imap, plans for ext-imap), I am wondering what the plans are for this repo. Will the ext-imap dependency be replaced soon, will this project be EOL together with ext-imap, does it totally depend on the ideas for ext-imap hopefully coming up in its issue tracker?
