Version control of uv.lock file #60

@gnzng

Description

@gnzng

With the recent dependency discussion #56 and switching to a pyproject.toml and including more uv workflows in PR #57:

What are your thoughts on version controlling the mentioned uv.lock file? It is about 4000 LOC in our case. I have seen different practices on this.

Reasons to Version Control:

  • helps track dependency changes over time
  • gives one reference point for a working version (at least in terms of installation)

Reasons Against Version Controlling:

  • It may lead to merge conflicts if environments differ
