Standalone version

Argus is certainly an interesting tool... but not interesting enough for me to install VSCode.

Please consider something standalone enough that I can pop it open in a browser window to complement my Yakuake+bacon+git gui+gVim (not NeoVim) setup.

I think that if this were implemented using language server protocol (LSP), it could be ported to other editors and IDEs. (I myself would be interested in Zed support)

Perhaps... but I intentionally don't kit out my gVim in IDE style. I run a standalone Git GUI and a standalone cargo clippy/cargo test runner.

If this were an LSP language server, then I'd have to track down a standalone LSP host that functions akin to bacon and figure out how to make sure that coc.nvim isn't trying to launch a second copy of Argus and the other LSP host isn't trying to launch a second copy of rust-analyzer.

Thanks for checking out the tool! There has been (minor) discussion of porting Argus to Rust Analyzer, but this would likely still require a custom frontend for each editor. We'd love to have a tool that can accommodate the range of dev setups but right now we don't have the bandwidth to make that happen.

Couldn't you offer, at least as a fallback, something which just runs a local HTTP server in the background and pops open a browser tab on request?

I'm honestly enough of a not-a-fan of gVim's UI-drawing capabilities that, if a problem surfaced by rust-analyzer's auto-check isn't obvious from a line marker and a single line of explanatory text in the statusbar, I turn to bacon.

I don't want something as heavy as an HTML renderer (or equivalent) in the same process that has to remain responsive as I type.
