Description

NVCC has an agreement for automatic admission to GMU upon receipt of an Associate's degree provided minimum performance standards are met!

Next steps for pursuing an Associate of Science 2 year degree from NVCC:

  • Send AP scores to NVCC (this will get you credit for some math courses and maybe some other things)
Done by cooler-king. Note: will not be processed until July 3rd.
  • Choose degree program: Information Technology + switch to curriculum (full-time) student.
  • Complete Transfer Credit Evaluation Request Form 125-049E... see Prior Learning/Transfer
Note: can't do this until full time student with a declared degree
_Chose IT degree program on 6/26, submitted request for transcript evaluation on 6/27-
  • Study the IT A.S. page in the NOVA Catalog and study the associated Advising Sheet (linked on that page).
  • With an understanding of the classes you will need to take, sign up for classes for the Fall semester. You can adjust these later, but it's important not to delay to avoid being shut out of any classes you will need.
See the working spreadheet for class selections.
4 of 6 classes added on 6/26; ITP 100 and ENG 112 have prereqs -- awaiting transcript evaluation, submitted 6/26... can take up to 4 weeks
  • Schedule a meeting with your IT adviser at NOVA (assigned after selecting degree program) to discuss your plan and what you'll need to do to get the A.S. degree.
Adviser not assigned as of 6/27 (see My Academics > My Adviser); probably best to do this after transcript evaluation
  • If necessary, adjust your courses accordingly.
  • Tuition payment due by July 24
