Memory leak using pycuda backend

On Ubuntu25.04
using PyCuda versions from 2023.1 to most recent and python3.11, or python3.12
with nvidia-driver-570 and 580
I get memory leaking for the GPU.
Thus running the code in MCMC eventually ends up in out of GPU memory.

This is so far to just get the discussion started. I hope to get a minimum working example written soonish.
I doubt that cutde is the cause of the leak with multiple issues of memory leaks related to nvidia drivers and other nvidia programms, but there might be some folks that have more suggestions of what I could try.

I did not observe these leaks running on Ubuntu2022 2years ago.

Thanks for letting me know! I did make some substantial changes to the code in v25.7.21, so it's certainly possible that I unintentionally introduced a memory leak that wasn't present before. So if I understand, the three possibilities are:

• the memory leak is somewhere not in cutde
• the memory leak was introduced in v25.7.21
• the memory leak is longstanding, but this is very unlikely since you didn't hit it 2 years ago.

It was certainly not there in an older version prior to your changes. I will try the older version of cutde as well.
