Option to disable Piece of Power/Guardian Acorn music?

Hard-mode removes them completely from the game, maybe that helps? (They interact a bit odd with the music system, so I'll have to see if I can come up with a patch that doesn't break things badly)

I know this is an older issue, but I have been thinking about how to tackle this.
Z4Randomizer already has this capability, so perhaps there could be a way to ask CrystalSaver how he did it there? There doesn't seem to be a source release of it for me to look over...
However, the audio issue is also a usability defect; aside from making the sword flash with a sprite and increased player movement when the PoP is in effect, there is no way for the player to easily determine if the powerup is active or not without the music cue. To solve this dilemma, I was thinking of showing a small 8x8 icon to the left of the player's hearts in the HUD, with a one-tile gap between it and the rupee icon. A sword for PoP, a shield for GA. Finding enough free tiles for this could be tricky, but the HUD mappings could be modified to take better advantage of the GBC's capabilities for tile maps, namely the ability to flip tiles on the X and Y axis, and thus freeing up 3 tiles used by the item selection brackets.
