trouble to create a widget without using datahub.io resources.

Following the http://kb.datopian.com/dashboards/#configure-vizualizations and Repo Readme
I did understand to create a widget but I didn't understand how datasets property gets the data resources from remote on config.
Can't figure out how to create a view widget using another resource instead of datahub.io resources.
