`make check` failures (and what they mean)

So I got the Bash Automated Testing System (bats 1.11.1) installed and reran make check which still didn't pass. The TAP output report doesn't tell the error ramifications.

Would you explain what's broken (and how badly), as I haven't used file locking much myself?
