As for the broken UI in 3.6.6: this is fixed in 3.6.7, which is available for download here and in the auto updater. Seems we still have to update the website... I understand the depositing process is confusing. Because we need to send a specially constructed transaction, we need the internal Bitcoin wallet to sign it. It has always been the case that the deposit address just belongs to the internal wallet. That's why when aborting a swap after depositing the Bitcoin (but before locking it into the swap) the Bitcoin ended up (and still does) in the internal wallet. There is no good way around it. Selecting "No wallet (Legacy)" on startup has nothing to do with that. We introduced a system to manage multiple "identities" each with its own Monero wallet, Bitcoin wallet and swap history. "No wallet (Legacy)" just uses the old identity, which is located in a different directory. You can still select an external Monero redeem address and an external Bitcoin refund address in the settings. That leads to the exact same behaviour as in the earlier days. It is clear the UI is not perfect, and confusing. I'll go ahead and create an issue to rework it. |

Hello!

I really like the idea of atomic swaps. I'm trying to use eigenwallet, but somehow I can't do it. I'm using version 3.6.4 as an AppImage on Linux. According to the manual, it should be possible to make a payment from an external bitcoin wallet to the address that will be displayed at the selected offer after the exchange is launched. However, I can't start the exchange. When I hover my mouse over the "select" button, the "You don't have enought Bitcoin to swap with this maker" help appears. As if the program still insists on using an internal wallet. I remind you that I enter the program without opening my wallet by pressing the "No wallet (Legacy)" button.
Am I doing something wrong?
I think the ability to work against an external wallet is important. I already have a Bitcoin and Monero wallets on my own nodes. The need to use an internal wallet means transferring funds between wallets and paying additional fees, In addition, the internal wallet does not do much and I do not even know if it works properly. When opening an internal wallet, the program ends with an error. I also tried version 3.6.6 but it doesn't work at all probably due to GUI - see attachment:
