Passing comma-separated string as param

I read the documentation that it would break the list into separate parameters in the URL.

You can also pass a list of items as a value:

>>> params = {'key1': 'value1', 'key2': ['value2', 'value3']}
>>> r = httpx.get('https://httpbin.org/get', params=params)
>>> r.url
URL('https://httpbin.org/get?key1=value1&key2=value2&key2=value3')

Is there any possible method for the list to turns into a comma-separated string (i.e. URL('https://httpbin.org/get?key1=value1&key2=value2,value3'))? I have tried to encode the commas into the URL but they are automatically encoded to %2C as comma is reserved.

It works after I wrote the request as

r = httpx.get('https://httpbin.org/get?key2=value2,value3', params={'key1': 'value1'})

I originally input 'https://httpbin.org/get?key2=value2,value3&' with an extra & which causes error.

But I still wonder if there is a better solution.
