Missing module h11

Hello everyone,

I am trying to use httpx, but when I import it with import httpx, I am getting the error No module named h11 coming from the dependency httpcore.

I tried all httpx versions from 0.25.0 onwards.

Odd. How are you installing httpx?

I didn't answer the question, I am sorry. The answer is: with poetry, though a private repository with the parameter priority = 'default'.

I did quite a bit of investigation, it turns out it's a poetry/pkginfo issue. The related issue is python-poetry/poetry#9294. As you can see in the linked issue, httpcore is mentioned.

Ah okay, yes I can see that it's a poetry issue.

I'd like to understand what the resolution is tho, since it's impacting us.

Unfortunately, not in my case.

From my understanding, to fix the issue, the version of pkginfo needs to be >= 1.10, but the latest version of poetry (1.8.2 at the time of writing) ships with pkginfo 1.9.6.

pkginfo is already set to ^1.10 in the main branch, so the next Poetry version will likely fix it.

Follow-up for any future readers: poetry 1.8.3 has been released, and the bug above should have been fixed given that pkginfo is now at 1.10: https://github.com/python-poetry/poetry/releases/tag/1.8.3
