Viewpager2: Shimmer on RecyclerViews freezes UI

Hi guys,

I have ViewPager2 up and running with four pages, all having shimmer effects on their RecyclerViews. When I load the ViewPager2 the first time, it takes a very long to initialize all views. If I delete all shimmer effect relevant tags from fragment-xmls which are mapped to my ViewPager2, its lighting fast. Any ideas?
